Call Centers & BPO
Why is my call center's contact rate so low?
Almost always one of three reasons: the list is recycled (already dialed by others), the numbers aren't verified, or the ICP isn't well segmented. All three share the same root — the problem isn't your agent team, it's the data you handed them.
Almost always one of three reasons: the list is recycled (already dialed by others), the numbers aren't verified, or the ICP isn't well segmented. All three share the same root — the problem isn't your agent team, it's the data you handed them.
Cause 1 — Recycled lists
If the same contact list already circulated through other call centers or campaigns, every agent dialing is competing against numbers that were already contacted, already said no, or already blocked the number. An exclusive list — that nobody else is dialing — doesn't carry that prior wear.
Cause 2 — Unverified data
A correctly formatted number isn't the same as an active one. If the list wasn't run through one-by-one verification before delivery, a portion of those "contacts" simply won't answer — not because they don't want to, but because the number no longer exists or changed hands.
Cause 3 — Poor segmentation
Dialing someone who doesn't fit the target profile isn't just a wasted call — it's a call that also chips away at the agent's energy and tone for the next call, which might have been the right one.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my current provider is giving me recycled leads?
The clearest sign is a contact rate that drops over time on the same list, or prospects mentioning similar calls from other companies.
Does ICP segmentation cost extra?
ICP-Segmented is the base data tier — it isn't an add-on, it's the starting point of any well-built list.
